Update

To update regarding my dog's condition.

Right now I think she's doing okay. After a day of administering 2 of the 3 kinds of medicines prescribed to her I have wanted to stop giving it. I was afraid it was too much for her. But I waited. Her appetite was gone. I had to put in lots of fish because that's what's she wants to eat only mix with rice. She doesn't like dogfood. I add in food supplement and 2 tbsps of VCO after meal.

I argued with the vet about giving steroid because in her condition it's said never to give it. But he explained to me the principle of the kind of steroid he prescribed. I was convinced. I wanted to stop the antibiotics but i thought my dog needs it especially that her feet are swollen. She also has a wound under her paw which even though i put in VCO or clean it with betadine regularly because she uses it to walk there is a big chance she could get infected so antibiotics is needed. I didn't give the nizoral though. Reading about its side effects I'm not about to take a chance yet. I'm not sure her system could take so much drugs.

I don't give the meds all at once. I administer the antibiotics after her morning meal then followed by VCO. I give the steroid at her second meal again with VCO after.

I believe she also needs to be dewormed. I think that explains why she's losing weight even though she's eating. I have to ask the vet when is a good time to deworm her. It might help her recovery.

She's also alert and very responsive. I frequently check her eyes in case it turns yellow. I wonder though why sometimes she prefers to stand. She could even sleep standing.

The vet said this is a long treatment. I'll take it as long as she doesn't end up dead like her sister.

I heard that almost nobody dies from this disease but in the case of my dogs as if nothing works. You do almost everything but they are non responsive so i took the chance with the program my new vet suggested.

I hope and pray that she will recover soon...
